Event guidelines

For your event to be part of the official STEM GIRLS Week agenda, it must meet these guidelines. We review every submission before publishing it.

1. STEM focus

The event must have a clear science, technology, engineering or math component: for example coding, robotics, data science, biology or 3D design.

2. Girls and women at the center

It must be designed to inspire, teach, connect or give visibility to girls, young women or women. It can be mixed, but its main goal must be to close the gender gap in STEM.

3. Official dates

The event must take place during official festival week: February 11–18, in your city's local time.

4. Event types

Workshops (in person or online), livestreams, talks, bazaars, networking events, breakfasts, lunches, dinners or concerts.

5. Complete, transparent information

When you register your event we need:

  • Who organizes: your name, whether you organize alone or with an organization, a contact email, your city and your country.
  • Format: for in-person events, the full address and venue; for online events, the platform and the event link.
  • Date and time: the day (between February 11 and 18), start and end time, and time zone.
  • Cost: whether it is 100% free or paid, and if paid, the exact price and the payment link or instructions. Each host charges on their own.
  • Audience: the recommended age (for example ages 8–12, 13–17, college students, professionals or all ages) and whether it is for girls and women only or mixed.
  • Capacity: the maximum number of attendees, to avoid overbooking.

6. Event image (optional)

  • Ideal size: 1600 × 900 px, landscape (16:9 ratio). That's how it's shown on the agenda and on the event page.
  • Minimum: 1200 × 675 px (we don't accept images under 800 px wide). JPG, PNG or WebP up to 3 MB.
  • Safe zone: keep text and logos in the center, away from the edges.
  • Have a square post (1080 × 1080 px) or a vertical story (1080 × 1920 px)? That works too: we show it in full over a blurred background of the same image.
  • Use pop colors and a fun style; you can add the STEM GIRLS Week logo.

7. Safe space

  • The event must guarantee a respectful environment, free of harassment, discrimination and stereotypes, and follow our code of conduct.
  • If it is aimed at girls or teenagers, it must require an accompanying adult or have appropriate care protocols.

How we review

The STEM GIRLS Week team reviews every submission by hand to confirm it is complete and meets these guidelines. If anything is missing, we will contact you to complete it.
